September marks Suicide Awareness Month, and the Zumbrota Police Department has taken a meaningful step to honor this important cause. The department has redesigned their official patches to feature a symbol that sheds light on suicide awareness. These special patches will be worn by each officer during the month of September each year, serving as a visible reminder of the community's commitment to supporting those affected by this issue.

The patches are available for purchase by the public, with local purchases costing $10 and shipped orders at $11. All proceeds from these sales will be donated to the Gary Schroeder Jr. Memorial, a meaningful initiative that aims to provide resources and support for those impacted by suicide.
