2024 Minnesota Small Cities Development Grant
The City of Zumbrota is pleased to announce that we have been approved by the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) for funding in the amount of $597,713.00. Funds for the grant are provided from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). We are grateful for assistance from the Southeastern Minnesota Multi-County Housing and Redevelopment Authority (SEMMCHRA) for helping us obtain this needed funding.
The Minnesota Small Cities Development Grant provides funding to assist homeowners with rehab projects. The goal of the program is to preserve current housing stock, enable adults to stay in place, provide safe, affordable housing for all, and increase a home’s energy efficiency.
There are several steps to accomplish before the program can be rolled out. City staff will be meeting the representatives from SEMMCHRA very soon to initiate next steps in the process.
We will provide more information as soon as we can.
There are several cities currently utilizing the program, Zumbrota will be largely the same. More information about current Small Cities Development Grant cities can be found on SEMMCHRA’s website.
