Zumbrota PD has used a variety of insignia over the years. Below are some of the badges and patches that have been worn by our staff over the years. ZPD does not sell or giveaway our current insignia. The exception to this is our Suicide Prevention and Awareness patch which is a fundraiser for the Officer Gary Schroeder JR. PTSD / Suicide Prevention Memorial. For the link for the fundraiser, click here

The insignia above is no longer used by Zumbrota Police Department. If you come across any old insignia from ZPD, please share photos with us!

Whoops! When transitioning from the first iterations of the Covered Bridge patch to the "second generation" that added the text "Minnesota's Only Covered Bridge", the patch designer first sent a few of this concept with the phrase at the bottom instead. Unfortunately, they also put "Covered Wagon" instead of Covered Bridge. Thankfully the error was caught and the decision was made to move the phrase to the top of the patch.

The infamous Guinea Hen of Zumbrota patch. In all seriousness, the was made by Sgt. Pasquale and given to full-time staff for Christmas in 2025. Over a few summers we had a guinea hen at large in town that was causing quite a stir, even earning a local TV news story. Officers made multiple attempts at luring and trapping this bird as it was wanted for fowl play. Needless to say it disappeared one night. One of the many legends of Zumbrota forever commemorated in Insignia! These were not authorized for official uniform wear and only 10 were produced.
