Zumbrota PD have used a variety of insignia over the years. Below are some of the badges and patches that have been worn by our staff over the years. ZPD does not sell or giveaway our current insignia. The exception to this is our Suicide Prevention and Awareness patch which is a fundraiser for the Officer Gary Schroeder JR. PTSD / Suicide Prevention Memorial. For the link for the fundraiser, click here

The insignia above is no longer used by Zumbrota Police Department. If you come across any old insignia from ZPD, please share photos with us!

The two patches and Officer badge directly above are our current insignia that all Officers wear. The patch on the left has green grass and blue sky are worn by Officers in the Spring/Summer months on their short sleeve uniforms. The middle patch showing a winter scene is worn in the Fall/Winter months on long sleeve uniforms.

The Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) patch is issued to Officers who have completed the national DRE certification curriculum.

The Suicide Awareness and Prevention patch and badge are worn by Officers throughout the month of September; Suicide Awareness and Prevention month. These were created in honor of Officer Gary Schroeder Jr. and the patches are for sale as a fundraiser for the Suicide Awareness memorial.

The Star of Life patch is issued to Officers who have taken the additional step to become certified and licensed as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). While all Officers maintain Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) certification, the EMT certification requires approximately 6 months of additional training as well as additional requirements to maintain certification.
