Snow Event Parking
Zumbrota City Code Section 72.06 states:
(A) During the period of November 1st through April 1st of each year, no motor vehicle or any other obstruction shall be parked or allowed to remain on any city street during a snow event until the street is cleared to its full width. The Director of Public Works, or his or her designee, in the exercise of sound judgement and discretion, shall determine when a snow emergency exists requiring the removal of snow and ice from the public streets, in accordance with the snowplowing policy.
(B) Towing. Any vehicle or other obstruction in violation of this section is subject to towing by the city to a storage area and may be reclaimed by the owner only upon payment of towing and storage charges. Any vehicle not reclaimed within seven days shall be deemed an abandoned vehicle and sold according to law.
(C) Penalty. In addition, any person, firm or corporation violating the provisions fo this section shall be subject to the following penalties if the violation occurs between the hours of 7:00 p.m. to7:00 a.m.:
(1) First violation. Administrative penalty in the amount of $30, as may be amended from time to time by the City Council in its schedule of fees.
(2) Second violation. Administrative penalty in the amount of $50, as may be amended from time to time by the City Council in its schedule of fees.
(3) Third violation. Guilty of a petty midemeanor and may be fined in acordance with state statute.
